David Braun
Born in Rochester, Dave now lives with his wife, Pamela, on Lake Ontario in Irondequoit, New York. He has been painting since 1975 and is completely self-taught. His love of painting began as a hobby while working as a mechanical designer at Gleason Works in Rochester.
His inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the four seasons in New York State, and recently, the interesting porches and windows of older homes in the area. Gardens, flowers, and sailboats have also found their way into his paintings. His watercolors are usually a combination of two techniques: the loose, wet-in wet initial painting followed by a tighter, more controlled dry brush method.
Dave has taught Adult Ed classes and workshops in Fairport, Greece, and Irondequoit, and has had many one man shows. He is a member of SRAG and displays his paintings at several galleries in New York State.
