Suburban Rochester Art Group was founded in 1957, and was organized to provide an opportunity for Rochester area artists to develop their creative abilities through regular meetings, demonstrations, and exhibits. The group strives to maintain high standards creatively and ethically, and maintain its not-for-profit status by striving to culturally enrich the surrounding community.
Members enjoy a late summer paint-out at Braddock Bay.
As of December 2025, the Suburban Rochester Art Group will no longer be meeting as a formal group . Going forward, the remaining members plan to stay in touch, and occasionally gather informally for 'paint outs' or other art related activities. Former members may join SRAG's private Facebook Group by invitation.
In the past, we had monthly demonstrations and other learning opportunities, we offered the chance to paint as a group "en plein air" in the warmer months of the year. We also periodically facilitated day-long workshops. We exhibited, as a group, several times a year in various locations, giving our members the chance to share their work with the community.
